Well on Aug. 17th Gail and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. I can't believe how fast 7 years has gone bye. I also can't believe that we have a 3 1/2 year old and a 1 1/2 year old. Anyways, we celebrated our Anniversary this past Sat. and it was so much fun. We went out to Montgomery Inns for dinner, then stopped by to see our new church building.. it is coming along so well.. (fingers crossed we should be in our new building in a month or so). Then we headed out for dessert at Greaters. We got our favorite Black Rasberry Chip Ice cream and tried the Blueberry pie flavor too. Lets just say YUMMY for dinner and dessert! Well I am looking forward to many more happy years together with my loving hubby... it has been a great 7 years!!!

Nolan did not have an 18 month check up he had a 15 and 20 month.
Nathaniel was allowed to skip his 15 months and had an 18 months check-up.
So at 15 mts Nolan was 25 lbs (55%)

So we went to visit my brother in Indiana during the 4th of July weekend. It was really nice getting to see him and his family. I can't believe it had been 8 months since our last get together. So anyways we went to see my nephew Elijah play baseball.... he is awesome... His team is playing in tournaments this coming week!!! Go Elijah!!!! We also had a yummy cookout, played with 4 week old kittens, Went to chucky cheese, celebrated Gail's 36th B-day early while we were up there... and had a great time fellowshiping with one another. Fun times.

We have been renovating our kitchen the past few weeks. We are still waiting on counter tops.. they said that could take anywhere from 2-4 weeks... grrr.. We still have to paint and put down the floors too. But it is coming together really well and I love it. Thanks Honey!!!
Well today I was measuring my walls to see how much paint I would need to buy to paint the rooms. Well my little Peanut, Nathaniel, decided to trip and fall onto a small wooden chair. My mom and I grabbed him and he was bleeding really bad. We thought he had broken his nose... We took him to the emergency room to only fine that his nose is fine and he has a really bad cut/bruises on his lip. A big fat lip too. He is doing fine and is tough. I am just glad the day is over....

So Nolan was playing King of the Mountain today. As he stood on the chair yelling: "I am King of the Mountain!" I would say: "Well I am Queen of the Mountain!" Nolan would just laugh. I then told Nolan "I think God is King of the Mountain. "He replied: "No mommy, God is King of everything." Pretty smart kid! :)

To make our Sunday mornings easier we give the boys baths the night before and than get Nolan dressed in what he is going to wear for church the next day. It saves us a lot of time in the morning and no fighting on what to wear. I did not buy the boys Easter outfits this year, but came across this outfit in Nolan's 5 T bin of clothes. He wears 3 T and 4 T right now. Some 5s fit him and this outfit fit him great except for long pants. He loved his outfit so much he started to dance around and wanted me to take pictures. check out the two videos at the end: one he is telling his famous Knock Knock joke. The other video he is dancing and then stops to pose with hands on hip and starts to sing his new favorite song: " I Been Working on the chain Gang" Very funny. Ok well we as his parents think the videos are cute and funny. :)

On the way to my house last week, my mom, decided to pick the kids and I up some food from McDonalds. I was starting to wonder why it was taking her so long to reach my house when she called me from her cell phone, she said that McDonalds messed up the order and she had to go in and get something they forgot.
She went back in to get the rest of her food and then she drove off the 2nd time, then she noticed they forgot a double cheeseburger too. So she turned around very frustrated and returned to the restaurant. Inside she showed the manager the sales slip and he apologized for the inconvenience and mess up and gave my mom her double cheeseburger. My mom finally gets to our house with everything she ordered, and I started to distribute the food. When I looked into the McDonalds bag I asked why she went to Burger King too? She said “I didn't go there”. I showed her the bag with the double cheeseburger in it and we both started to laugh. In her rush and frustration she went back to the wrong restaurant to retrieve her forgotten burger. She felt bad since she now realized she got upset at the burger kings manager so she went back to Burger King that night and apologized. After she explained to him what happened she wanted to pay for the burger, The manger just laughed at her and said: "Lady you just made my day, that is the funniest thing I have heard in a long time." He told her to not worry about it and was impressed that she had come back. As my mom was leaving he was still laughing and already telling his co-workers the funny story.

So my mom and I got up at the crack of dawn today to hit some kid sales going on around our area. I was totally excited when I saw an outside playhouse for sale at the YMCA sale. We were first in line so we were able to grab it before anyone else. Yeah!!! So we set it up outside when we got home and the boys loved it. We decided to bring it inside so the boys could play with it longer today and well that was even a bigger hit. The funny thing is that Nolan had to go potty. All on his own he decided to get his potty chair. He carried it out of the bathroom and placed it in his little house and proceeded to pull his pants off and go potty. It was so cute. I was bummed I did not get a photo. However, about 30 minutes later he pulls the potty back out of the bathroom and puts it back into his house to do #2. I quickly took a photo of him going potty. So I guess his playhouse is now an inside "outhouse" :)

Nolan has said some cute things lately, and my friend Marshan told me I should blog them so I don't forget them.

Nolan is doing really well with going on the potty and has only had 1 or 2 small accidents in a month. Not bad. Well G-Pa Hon was over the other day and Nolan had to use the potty (#2). I helped him go and I asked him to flush the toilet. He said: "Not yet mommy I have to show G-Pa." I laughed b/c I just knew my dad would be so thrilled to see what was in the potty. :) So after washing our hands Nolan runs out of the bathroom to find G-Pa and show him his #2 in the potty. When they went back into the bathroom. Nolan flushed the toilet and said: " Bye Bye poop poop, You are my best friend." Should I be worried about his new friendship! hahahaha. My dad was somewhat concerned about Nolan having #2 as his best friend and found this to be just as funny as I did. I then told my father that Nolan calls his #2 "oh it is so cute." or if there is more than one in the potty he refers to them as a mommy, daddy and baby...

Nolan has also learned a new song. He goes around the house singing:
I have been working on the Chain Gang.... When we asked him where he learned this song he replied: "From Jesus" Then said From church.... I started to laugh....we still have no idea where he picked this song up from.. Just goes to show u how careful you have to be with your kids....They pick up so much from tv and hearing other people... Anyways I will have to ask his Sunday school teacher why she has taught him this song... hahaha just kidding Kristy! :)

Wow, it is amazing that exactly 1 year ago I was in the hospital giving birth to Nathaniel. He was and still is the best Valentine's gift I have ever received! :) Nathaniel was due March 17, 4 days before Nolan's 2nd b-day. However, God and Nathaniel had other plans...and he made his appearance 5 weeks early. He had a rough start and had to be monitored closely in the NNCU at the hospital for a week. God answered our prayers and I was allowed to stay in the hospital free until the room was needed. Thankfully I was able to stay up until we left the hospital together.

We celebrated Nathaniel's 1st b-day last Friday and it went really well. We had pizza, opened gifts, and of course did the first tasting of B-day cake. He loved the icing, wasn't to sure of the cake. He did not mind getting messy, but hated when his foot went into the cake...

Busy Busy Busy

So it has been a busy week. The weekend started off really well. My mom and I went thrift shopping and got a lot of nice clothes for the boys. I can't believe how many new items you can find at the thrift store and pay so much less than at a store. Anyways, I also took Nolan to get his hair cut. It was getting to be way too long and hard to manage. He always looked like he had bed hair even when I brushed it. Well our happy weekend came to end with Nathaniel deciding to throw up at church. He was perfectly normal all weekend and even when we got to church. However, he ended up getting sick and so Did Nolan on Monday. They both had some bad stomach bug that lasted almost a week. I can't even count how many times I was thrown up on and how many loads of laundry I had to do everyday. Nathaniel scared us one day. His hands and feet were starting to turn purple. Called the Dr. and he said that he was dehydrating. He needs more fluids. The kid could not keep anything down. He had been off bottles for awhile, but I resorted back to them b/c they are a slower flow. Sure enough he started to hold down more liquids and by the end of the day the purple hands and feet were back to normal. (He is back to sippy cups again) Plus on top of having a stomach bug Nathaniel is cutting 3 more teeth. Poor baby... he is having trouble sleeping and is really really really fussy....

I will be happy when things get back to normal.... Nolan is doing well with going # 1 on the potty. I would consider him trained on #1 but #2 is another story. Any advice out there on how to get them to go # 2?

Nathaniel has been furniture walking for like what seems forever... however, he has no desire to walk. but tonight for the first time he walked across the living room with his push toy. I was so excited. (check out the video) He also said Grandma two times this week. I can't believe he is going to be one in 3 weeks on Valentine's day and Nolan will turn 3 in about 2 months.

Gail had some vacation time saved up that he had to use before the end of the year was up. So he was able to take two whole weeks off work. Yes it was nice having him home, Yes it was also an adjustment, but a nice adjustment! One night we had the Halls (Gail's older sister's family) for dinner and games. Their 3 kids stayed the night. We stayed up really late making a gingerbread house and playing the Wii. Fun times:

Ok so today is day 5 of potty training. Nolan woke up at 8:00 today and had an accident free day. He did however, pee in his diaper during nap time, but I still consider this an accident free day b/c he was sleeping. Yeah!!! We even ventured out grocery shopping today. I was fully prepared for him to have an accident right in the middle of the store. However, no accidents. He came home and told us he needed to go potty. He still does not have #2 down yet, but I heard that is harder for them so we will see... I am nervous about Sunday going to church and seeing how he does there with telling he needs to go potty. There will be a lot more distractions there than at home..Fingers crossed that he will not need diapers anymore soon!

Day 3 Potty training

So today has been very productive. We started our day around 9:30 am and Nolan had one accident due to me getting distracted. After that he went 4 times and each time told me he had to go and made it to the potty. Yeah!!! While I am typing this he just had another accident. grr to myself b/c I was just about to take him. My fault!! :) Well I am now doing a load of laundry to clean his underwear. He is down to his last pair on, and thankfully the rest are in the dryer getting dried! Nap time is in a few minutes. Nathaniel is already down, but since G-ma Hon is here he is getting to stay up a little longer. She volunteer to stay home with him tonight to help with his training while we go to church. I love grandparents! :)

Day 2 of potty training and sippy cups

Nathaniel did great yesterday he used only sippy cups and continued to do so today. I actually packed up all his bottles but 3 (just in case) and am done using them.
Nolan woke up excited and wanting to put his underwear on.. (He cried last night when we had to put a diaper back on him for bedtime) Anyways, he has not done anything in the potty today, but did tell me he had to go poo poo. We ran to the bathroom and the little man really tried to go, but nothing. 15 minutes later he had a # 1 accident. He was so upset about wetting his pants. Anyways 40 minutes later he tells me he has to go #2 again. We rush to the bathroom and I pull his underwear off to only find me steeping in a very warm and mushy mess. Yelp he already did his deed and it fell out onto the floor and I of course stepped in it. Yuck. Oh well it was not that big of a deal or mess. However, I learned a very important lesson: Always check underwear before pulling them off just like a diaper! duh! He was disappointed about not making it to the potty, but I am impressed that he has a good attitude about it today and is trying. I just keep telling myself be patient he will be trained before I know it. It will be nice for him to be trained,but it is hard seeing my first baby in underwear and no more diapers. He looks more grown up.. I hate that they grow up way to fast! If u have any advice on potty training I would love to hear about. Especially what do you do when you leave your house!!!!

So this is the week we have decided to start potty training Nolan. This was our first day and it went pretty well. I tried to take him every 30 to 60 minutes to go potty. He refused to put underwear on and insisted to keep his diaper on. Grrr. Well at 6:30 pm I finally got underwear on him and at 8:00 pm Gail took him to try and go potty and He went! Yeah!!!! So pray that we can get him trained. It will save us some $ and it will be nice not to have two in diapers. We also are breaking Nathaniel from bottles starting today. So far he had his last bottle at 5:00am and has had sippy cups all day long. I am only going to give him a bottle at bedtime if he won't take a siippy cup. But I am hopping to pack up bottles by the end of this week! Also less than 2 months away no more formula. Wow I can't imagine the $ we will be saving with only 1 in diapers and no formula!!! :)

Lets see where do I begin:
Gail took a weeks vacation and the boys and I have enjoyed having daddy around all week.
The week started off with me having the bright idea of throwing pork chops down the toilet. Yes pork chops. I did this b/c we do not have a garbage disposal and I already took the garbage out so I did not want my house to stink. Well that was not a good Idea. I did not just flush down 1 chop, not 2 but 3 pork chops. Well this ended up with Gail having to buy a $30 tool to unclog the toilet. Thankfully he fixed it. We than went to our Young Marrieds Murder Mystery party(see pics below on other post) which was a blast! We also hosted Thanksgiving dinner, with ham not turkey. Wow that made for an easy dinner and clean up. I missed eating the turkey, but the ham was very yummy and oh less work and headache. My mom was nice enough to spend the night so Gail and I could get up and go shopping on Black Friday. Now I am not big on getting up on Black Friday and shopping but there was a deal we just could not pass up. Babies r us was having their store brand diapers on sale for $10 a box. So we woke up a 3;15 am and headed off to wait in line for the store to open at 5 am. There was a sign only 3 boxes per person, but well since Gail and I were both there we each got 3 boxes, paid, went to the car unloaded our stash and went back in again. I made two trips and Gail made 3. So We saved over $200 dollars in diapers by doing this and well we will not need diapers for awhile! :)

So about 3 weeks ago we were getting home from church and getting the kids out of the car. Nolan handed me something and said "Thank you." Right after he said it Nathaniel repeated it. I yelled for Gail and said Nathaniel just said: "Thank you". Well Since it could have just been a coincidence or I just thought it sounded like it I did not write it down in his book. However, my mom and I were out yesterday and he said it like 3 times at the store. My mom was like Lisa he just said "Thank you. " so now that someone else heard it and I have heard it more than once I can now officially say that Nathaniel can say: "thank you." My little boys are growing up so fast!!!

Nathaniel's 9mt Check-up

Today Nathaniel went to see Dr. Tood for his 9 mt check-up and shots. While G-ma Terrell was so nice to watch Nolan. When I arrived to Carolyn's house we noticed that my right front tire was flat. I was like oh no.. Carolyn was nice to allow me to drive her very nice van to the Dr. office. I was highly nervous the whole time driving her car, I did not want to harm it, but all was well we made it there and back fine. We even saw Nolan and Nathaniel's 2nd cousin baby Lilly there for her 2 week appointment. She is so cute! Nathaniel turned 9 months today. He has grown up so much these past months. He is all over the house now crawling everywhere and he is fast. He is getting his fist front tooth this week and it has made him very fussy. I can't wait for the teething stage to be over. Teething and potty training are not fun. Anyways I took the boys today to get their pics taken. Nolan will be 32 months on the 21st and Nathaniel is 9mts today. Nolan has had corn before, but he has never had corn on the cob. I don't know why I had never tried to give it to him... I saw my two friends have post of their kids eating corn on the cob and thought I need to see if Nolan would like that too. He loved it the first day and the next.. Now he is back to not liking corn again. Wow the life of a two year old and their eating habits.... grrrr...

eye infections

my poor little Nathaniel. He looks like a raccoon only instead of black eyes he has red puffy eyes. It started Tuesday night... and has gotten worst. I took him to the doctor today and he has two eye infections and is on medicine. He is contagious so I am praying no one else gets it. The doctor said we should see improvement within 48 hours.. If not he has to go back.. So lets hope the cream in the eyes work. It is not fun trying to put cream into a baby's eye 4 times a day....He has been more fussy than normal and very clingy.
Please pray that Nolan is not getting sick either. He was tugging at his ear today... but seems to be fine now.. I think it is due to his molars coming in...

7 Month checkup

Nathaniel went to visit the Dr. on Friday. My sweet Mother in -law came to help with Nolan. Thank you. Then we spent a fun day hanging out at her house for awhile. Here are Nathaniel stats:
Wt: 19 lbs 15 oz (75%)
Head: 17 1/2 inches (50 %)
Length: 27 3/8 inches (55%)
He is pretty similar to Nolan's 6 month stats

We took Nathaniel to the little farm down the road and took some cowboy pictures of him. The first 3 are of Nolan at 6mts. Nathaniel is 7mts in his pictures. Nathaniel was very tired and he would not smile at all. But they still turned out cute.

Sunday afternoon we had some really high winds. These winds were so strong that huge trees were pulled out of the ground roots and all. We were very fortunate that we only had small branches and some shingles from our roof come off. We lost our power from 2:00 pm-10pm and some places still do not have power. We lost our phone lines and internet service for a few days too. They say that Duke energy has over 800,000 costumers and over 600,000 were without power. The number has gone down now, but many still do not have power, water, and/or phone service. We were on our way to church Sunday night when we noticed all the damage around us. Many business closed, street lights were out, and houses were damaged. We made it to our church building, which is meeting in a Lakota school right now until we build a building, but with no power we ended up going to a near by members home and had our Church Anniversary dinner there and short service and than back home to candles and a hand held radio. Nolan loved reading books with his flashlight. Well since, many lights are still out many of the schools our closed. well this leads to trouble around our neighborhood. A few years ago when school was out for the summer some bored kids went around breaking car windows and stealing items from the cars...Well last night Nathaniel work up around 2 am and as I was feeding him I heard this crash like glass. I thought great someone is breaking into a car... well I could not see anything when I looked out the window.. but this morning Gail came back in from starting his car up for work and said that someone threw a glass jar of pickles at his car last night and there is glass everywhere. I was just thankful that the car was fine. I told him some bored kids out late at night b/c there is no school tomorrow...Well I need to see if I can reach the Dr. office. Nathaniel had his 7mt checkup/shots due on Monday, but due to the blackout... they were closed Mon. and Tues. So I am hoping I can get through to them today...I having a feeling it is going to be crazy with everyone trying to reschdule their appointments.

Enchiladas Recipe

Here is the recipe Marshan and Terani (Enjoy)

Enchiladas ( From the famous kitchen of Bev Sills)
This recipe was very simple, quick, and inexpensive to make.. It made a lot for us too!

1 pound turkey (cook and drain)
Mix together with cook turkey:
1 8 oz cream cheese
half a jar of picante sauce
a handful of shredded cheddar cheese
1 small box of spinach.. follow cooking directions

put mixture in flour tortilla and roll them up
lightly spray bottom of baking dish and place them
in the dish.

pour remaining picante sauce over top of enchiladas
sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese on top
Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes

My parents have been watching my brothers 4 older children while they get things situated with the house fire in Indiana. So Gail and I had them all over for Sunday lunch. The fireman had told them they would lose their whole house... He came back later and said you must have had a lot of people praying, because they still have the exterior...They also said that the tin roof helped contain the fire....Here are some pictures taken from my brother's brother in-law's camera and my mom's . Yelp my mom's camera and GPA survived with out harm.. She had had them in special cases!!! The most damage occurred in the girls room and upstairs.. My brother is suppose to meet with their insurance investor tomorrow. Please pray that all will go well with the insurance. Also please pray for my parents who have 4 out of the 5 kids staying with them right now.

Please pray for my brother, his wife, five kids and my mom(my mom is visiting with them in Indiana). My brother's house caught on fire tonight and they have lost a lot, but thankfully and most importantly all made it out safely. Your prays are appreciated.

UPDATE:
*3 firemen were taken to the hospital: 2 for smoke and heat, one from a beam falling on him.

*The Chief Fireman told my brother that he would lose the whole house. However, hours later he returned to my brother telling him that a lot of people must of been praying for you all... They still have some of the exterior left. The upstairs is pretty much destroyed and the downstairs is pretty gutted and water damaged. They are still investigating the cause of the fire. They think, but are unsure at this time that the fire was started in the girls room due to a light left on that fell over and started to burn clothing or faulty wiring. the firemen said that it was a good thing no one was sleeping in the room. They may of not made it out. That was the room my mom and 4 children would have been sleeping in that night. I am still unsure of all the facts... I am sure I will know more later. I will update later if anything new or something changes....
PRAISE BE TO THE LORD ALL ARE SAFE.... my mom called me this morning and I guess she is going to be bring 4 out of the 5 children back with her.......

Nathaniel ate cereal for the first time on Tuesday. He did not care for it and thought it was strange. Totally different than when we feed Nolan the first time. Nolan did not make a mess and he kept wanting more. Well we video taped Nathaniel eating the cereal , but well ummm I accidentally erased it before uploading it onto the computer. However, I do have a video of the next day with Nolan feeding him. I did not get the part of Nolan rolling on the floor laughing at Nathaniel because he was such a mess. I had just turned the camera off.

I did not see much there, but as I was leaving there was a box of purses. I started sorting through them to find this really cute purse. I asked the lady how much her purses were and she replied by saying depends on the purse. I showed her the purse I was interested in and she said $2.00 I thought not bad, but maybe not, then she said it was a Vera Bradley. I thought $2.00 for a Vera Bradley purse that is like brand new. I would never spend more than 10 maybe 20 on a purse, but that is really pushing it for me to spend over 10. So here is my find. ( I still might sell it and make a profit, right now I am using it)

So we went to Nathaniel's 5 month appointment yesterday. He got one shot. Here are his stats.

He goes back at 7 mts.
He also slept 10 hours straight last night! :) I can only hope for more of those nights soon!

Ladies Night MSBC Style

Our young Married wifes and single girls at our church went out last night to the melting pot. I have never been there before and found it to be pretty cool. It is a fondue restaurant. It is a really expensive place, but there was a deal last night for ladies night. For $20.o0 you got your own salad, cheese, and dessert. I still think this was way too expensive. But the experience was fun!!! I did not care for really any of the cheese fondue and have actually had better cheese fondue at other restaurant for so much less. However, the dessert was out of this world. Thanks Angie for setting up the whole adventure and driving.

Well, I am normally not a big fan of the Veggie Tales series. But today Rave movie theaters was having a free family movie time slot. apparently they have been doing this once a week all summer long. Bummer I just found out now. So I got the boys up early and headed to Rave. Nolan loved watching the movie and being at the movie theaters. I loved the fact it was free and you did not have to worry about keeping your child quiet. It was pretty quiet for young kids today, no one blinked an eye if a baby was crying or a kid was walking back and forth between seats as long as you tried to be respectful, no one cared. Plus did I mention it was FREE!!! So I think we are going to try next week too. It is Charlotte's Web and yes it is FREE!!! so if your interested come!!! :)

MSBC Ground Breaking

Are church Morning Star Baptist Church had our Ground Breaking ceremony on Sunday night. God was gracious to hold of the ran, thunder, and lighting until the end of the services. Our ground breaking was different than other ground breaking services that I have attended in the past. Pastor wanted everyone to be a part of it and to make it really special and memorable. The building committee first taped off the land so we could see how the church would be set up and where our classrooms would be located and so on. We all sat up lawn chairs and sat where our congregation would be located. Than Pastor rode up in a bulldozer to start off the ceremony. Pastor wanted everyone to bring shovels so that everyone could be a part of the ground breaking. Which is different from past ceremonies I have attended. It was really cool. Check out the pictures.

So my friend Marshan and I sought out to see Ty on Wed. Too. However, to our disappointment we did not get to see him. We also took along are kids. She took 3 of her 5 and I took both my boys. It was a little overwhelming with the kids there so needless to say we did not stay long. Gail and I went back with the boys that night and the house is completely finished on the outside. They were basically moving furniture in and out. Nolan loved riding the big yellow bus. I do believe that was the highlight of the day for him. Even baby Nathaniel liked riding it and looking out the window.

Extreme Makeover (West Chester, Ohio)

Wow, I can't believe that Extreme Makeover is in West Chester redoing a home. Not only are they in West Chester, but they are in my parents neighborhood. My parents can walk to the house being redone. My mom got to see the house being torn down, I tried to see it with the boys, but wasn't able to make it on time. However, my friend Jen, Marshan, and I went to see the site today. The house is so beautiful and it isn't even done yet. We even got Michael's autograph and picture taken with him. We hope to go back again. I really want to go when they reveal the house to the family. I love the concept behind Extreme Makeover and that deserving families in need get a house that will help them with their needs. Check out the pictures:

Gail and I got to see a "Screener" (a free early preview) of the New movie Fireproof Thursday. IT's a christian movie about marriage from the same people that did facing the giants and flywheel
It does not open until September 26th and will be on DVD at the end of January.
We really enjoyed the movie though we both like facing the giants better (Gail admits he is biased since facing the giants was about football!!) don't get me wrong it was a very good movie!!!

I thank God everyday for my husband and children. What a blessing they are to me everyday. I am very blessed to have a husband that loves me and cares for me. Gail asked me after the movie if I thought we had a good marriage. I told him: "NO, we have a GREAT marriage." It is great because it is not perfect and we love each other for who we are. I am looking forward to growing old with my husband and to learning more about who he is everyday. I hope and pray that my children will have a strong marriage too one day. We must remember that all marriages will be tested... but as long as God is put first in your marriage and you both lean onto Christ you will have a wonderful and Godly marriage.
