Nolan learns how to climb on the dog cages. He has not really climb on anything else yet because our furniture it still too high for him. The poor dogs were not for sure what was going on..

Alma's House!

Gail,Nolan, and I were invited to have dinner and hang out over at the Alma's home! The Alma's are a young married couple from our church. They have 4 wonderful and cute boys and Nolan really enjoyed playing with them. We had a lot of fun hanging out. Marshan showed off her cool scrap booking room. I so want a room like that.. Oh the creativity I could have with my own scrap booking if I had a room like that... oh well! I can only dream!!! Anyways we had a wonderful evening at their home and will return the favor soon by having them over. Thanks for a great evening Marshan, Eric, and the boys!

Nolan and Gail play in the snow!

Here are a few pictures of Nolan and his first encounter with snow. He did not like sitting in the snow at first... However, when we brought him inside he decided that the snow at least tasted good! (see video)

Snack Time!!!

Whenever I open up the refrigerator Nolan 9 out 10 times stops what he is doing and comes over. He loves standing up and pounding on the shelves or taking items off the door. He usually leaves everything else alone, for now anyways! :) Well I just had to take a picture of this because I thought he looked cute of course, and because it looks like he is trying to decided what he would like to have as a snack.

Decisions, Decisions........

Young Married's Planning Activity!

Gail and I hosted the young marrieds planning activity last night. It was a lot of fun. We had about 26 people attend. We had a great time fellowshipping, eating tacos, watching Facing the Giants, and planning our activities for the year. Gail and I did not get to many pictures. We were having to much fun and forgot to take pictures until close to the end. Here are a few pictures:

We enjoyed your devotion Eric! :)

Gail and Haircuts!

My husband is funny. He will only go to the same lady to get his hair cut. He has been going to Michell for about 18 years now. He once went to someone else and it was not a good thing. Sure it looked fine when she cut it, but when it started to grow out a few weeks later he had cow licks coming from all directions. He had to go back a few weeks later and have Michell fix it. The first thing she said was "Who cut your hair?" Now the other thing that really bugs me about him and hair cuts are that he waits so long to get them. He hates to spend the $ so he waits until he really has to go. We laugh because Michell informs him how long it is between each visit. It is funny because we can never remember exactly when we got his last cut, but it ends up being 12 or 13 weeks on the dot each time he returns. (Now the real reason I am adding this blog is because he was bugging me to put a picture of him on my blog. He noticed that there were very few pictures of him!) heheheh :)

Nittany & Lion, Super Pups!!!

My husband thought he would never own a dog. However, I begged him into getting me a dog. He finally caved in and we ended up getting Nittany a few months after we were married! :) Than a year later I was at a garage sale and they were selling their 8 month Boston Terrior for really cheap! I called Gail several times and finally I irritated him enough that he caved again. (Note: he was helping a friend put in his kitchen flooring.) So I think he just said yes so I would stop calling him. When he realized what he agreed to it was too late! :) Anyways he loves both dogs. We named them after Penn state so that really went over well with Gail. Penn State's mascot is a Nittany Lion. So our first dog is named Nittany and our second dog's name is Lion. They are great dogs and Nolan and the dogs get along great!
Nolan loves them so much he even tried to drink out of the dogs' water dish two days ago, just like a dog... I stopped him before he got the water of course. Boy I wish I had a picture of that!!! :)

Here are pictures of our dogs.

NOlan discovers his closet!

Ok so a week ago I was cleaning out Nolan's closet. I had to pack away clothes he had outgrown. Nolan decided it would be fun to play in the closet. He would peek out every once and awhile to say hi.

Nolan Saw his First Snow Flakes!

It started to snow on the night of Jan. 16th and we thought Nolan would like to see the snow fall. He is still waiting to play in the snow. Who knows if we will get any big snow falls this year. He might have to wait until next year to build a snowman!

Cheese Buddies!

Ok for all you hard working mothers out there that are looking for a really simple recipe that is quick and kid friendly here is a recipe that I have had for awhile. I use to make this a lot when Gail and I first got married, because he loved it a lot and it was easy to make when I came home from working with 3rd graders all day long! :)

Cheese Buddies

Ingredients:
1 can of refrigerated biscuts with butter
1 lb hamburgar
1 small jar Prego Spaghetti sauce
1 small onion (optional) (cut up)
1 large bag of Mozzarella cheese

Method:
Fry Hamburger with onions---drain grease
Add sauce to hamburger
Use cooking spray on muffin pans and place biscuts in the muffin holes. ( I spread the dough of each biscut out a little bit)
spoon hamburger mixture onto each biscuts (Don't fill to high)
Follow cooking instructions on can of biscuts
The last 3 minutes of baking sprinkle mozzarella cheese on the biscuts and bake till cheese is melted...

When they are done they will look like a small bread bowl filled up! :)
Hope you try this and enjoy it!

1st steps

Today my mom and I had Nolan walk between us and he took two steps on his own. He did this twice in a row.. Later that evening he took two more steps between Gail and me. He is starting to balance himself at random a little bit more on his own when he is playing or pulling himself up he will let go for a few seconds. However he still perfers to crawl, and boy can that little guy move fast when he crawls... He is into everything now, I can only imagine the places
he will get into when he starts to walk.

One of my new favorte movies.

At our old church Gail and I worked with the teens. We were trying to think up new activities to do with them and we ended up coming across a movie Fly Wheel. It is a great Christian movie and went over well with our teens and fellow church members that viewed it. The same group that made Fly Wheel produced a new movie Facing the Giants.
I love this movie. It has a great gospel message and it has subject matter that relates to many. I also loved that both movies made it into the movie theaters. I love supporting good movies in the theater. Both movies really touched my life. Fly Wheel starts off slow, but really has a great message. I have seen it a number of times and I cry every time I watch it. I cried more during Facing the Gaints. (happy tears)! It is amazing to see how God really works in our lives. Both movies paint a picture of how once you turn your life over to God everything in your life will be roses. However this is not true. In reality as Christians we all know that we too will still suffer hardships.... But what's great about when we go through hardships we know that God is always on our side holding our hands.....
I love the fact that the movies were done by a Baptist Church in Georgia!
Facing the giants was done on a $100,000 budget, and Flywheel was done on a mere $10,000 budget!!
We are having a Young Marrieds activity at our house on Sat. 20th of Jan and we are supposed to watch this awesome movie! Can't wait to see it again! I hope that you will all enjoy it as much as Gail and I did and that it too will touch your lives.... Here are previews of the movies.
Check out the preview for flywheel at www.flywheelthemovie.com

We love movies!

We received some junkmail from NetFlix. Gail looked it over and noticed they had a list of the 200 most popular movies. Off of this list we have seen 176 of them... Now we did not watch all these movies in one year... some of the movies were newer and a lot were older movies 4 or 5 years old. One I highly recommend is Batman Begins... Loved it! We only rented about 10 of the movies, because our lovely Library allows you to check out 5 movies at a time... and that is where we get movies for FREE!!! Gail figured out that if we had rented all those movies at about $4.00 a piece we would have paid $704 dollars before taxes!!!!!

Spending time with Friends!

Our good friends Melaine and Scott invited us over for dinner tonight! It was a lot of fun getting a chance to talk and watch the children play. They have two really sweet boys named Henry and Emerson. Nolan really loved playing with them. Here are some pictures of our time spent at the Rains' house! Thanks for having us over! We had lots of fun!

New Years Baby!!!

OK so I tried to dress Nolan up like the baby New Year's baby. He was not having it. He is 9 months old and he has more important things to do and explore. So here are some of the pictures he allowed me to take!
