New Trick

Today Gail and I woke up to the sound of knocking on a door and Nolan saying: "Mommy, Daddy!"
Gail got up and went into Nolan's room to discover that he was standing behind his bedroom door. Yes, he has figured out how to climb out of his crib! :) So our little Monkey is really starting to grow up! Funny thing is that I was out shopping for paint and fabric yesterday to re-do our spare room for him. I found the fabric to make his bed spread for his new big boy toddle bed. He must be trying to tell us he is ready to move into his new room and new bed! So Candice and Deb I need help deciding on paint color!!!!!!! :)

Terrell's Christmas

This year Matt and Candice hosted their first big holiday in their new beautiful home. They did a great job, and their house is looking really nice. Candice should be an interior designer. (You can come and re-do my house anytime girl!) :) Thanks again for hosting a wonderful Christmas dinner and family gathering. Here are some pictures of our fun day. Oh yeah we also celebrated Gail's grandparents 70th Anniversary!! (click on picture to enlarge)

Hon's Christmas

My brother and his family came in to celebrate Christmas on Sunday afternoon. It was nice spending time with them. We opened up our gifts on Sunday night, and then had our dinner, games and more fellowship on Saturday. I just wish I had felt better!!! I hate being sick, but more so when you are pregnant!!! Something funny about our family is that since Gail and I have been together 5 out of 6 Christmas there has always been a duplicated gift. Can't remember the right order but here is the load down. 1st Year my brother bought my parents a DVD player, and so did Gail and I. 2nd Year: my brother bought my parents and Us George Foreman Grills and my parents did too. 3rd year we bought my brother the same play station game that he bought Gail. 4th year brother bought parents a photo printer, Dad also bought mom one. Well this year was really funny because we had decided to not buy gifts for adults. My brother and I would buy gifts for our parents and my parents just for the grandkids. So we thought for sure there would be no duplicated gifts. Well we were wrong. My brother and I bought our parents the same gift. We got them the picture frames that you download a lot of photos and it displays the pictures like a slide show. How funny!!! Here are a few pictures of the Hon's Christmas: (Click on picture to enlarge it)

Fantasy Football League

My team name was Shockwave

Some of the girls at my church decided to have a fantasy football league of our own this year. Now if you know me I am not much of a sports fan. However, I began to really like playing fantasy football, and learned a lot more about football this year. I even sat down and watch a few games with Gail, my husband. This made him very happy. Well I can't believe it, but I came in 2nd place in our league. Wow!! I was just thrilled to make it to the playoffs, let alone 2nd place!!! I might of had a better shot of actually winning if my QB Jon Kitna and Greg Jennings would have had a better game. Oh well.... I am still very pleased with the results. I hope to play again next year!!!

The Hall Kids Sleepover!!!

Wednesday night we had the Hall kids spend the night with us after church. Josh, Rachel, and Abby are Nolan's cousins. The night started off good with playing video games, board games and attempting to watch my Fair Lady. We were not impressed with this movie and did not finish it. Anyways while I was making cookies last night Josh was tossing a very small soft football up in the air. Really no big deal, I did not even think anything of it, because it would of been something I or Gail would have done. Well somehow it barely hit a picture hanging up in the kitchen and it fell down and broke. I was just thankful it did not fall on Josh. Thats all we need another run to the emergency room for stitches! Anyways the next morning all was well. Until Abby went to use the bathroom. Yelp, somehow she walked out of the bathroom not noticing that when she flushed the toilet it was overflowing. We did not discovery this flood until Gail walked into our Laundry room to find an 1/2 inch of water on the floor. He then discovered at least 1 inch of water in our bathroom and the toilet still flowing over. The water ended up in our back bathroom(not bad) and are hallway. Thank goodness for a shop Vac. We were able to clean up the water. However, I have to wash every towel we own because we used them up to clean up the mess. One good thing came out of the flooding. I got a really clean bathroom, and more importantly I was able to throw away Gail's gross electric toothbrush and replace it with a new one we had on hand. That thing was Germ heaven! :) Well the kids have now been returned home. We had fun and got two really fun stories out of the night to tell. And yes if you are wondering we will have them over again. They are great kids we are blessed to have them as are nieces and nephew!!! :) Plus Nolan had a blast with them. They are really good with him. I wish I would have gotten video of Josh and Nolan dancing to a singing dog though. Very cute!!!

What a Day!!!

The day started off well getting to sleep in, however, right before Gail was leaving for work Nolan decided to try and give us a heart attack. Gail was getting ready in one bathroom for work, and I in our bedroom bathroom. Nolan follows me into our bedroom and was playing with his cars. As I am in the bathroom I hear a crash. I yelled to Gail to come quick. Nolan had knocked down our full length mirror. He was crying, but stopped when Gail got the mirror off him. (the mirror is light thank goodness.) We proceeded to clean it up and Nolan even stood watching me vacuum up loose mirror pieces. After about 5 minutes later I look over at Nolan and I see blood running down his leg. I think oh No he did get cut. I washed the cut off and saw a nasty cut that I thought might need stitches. Gail came in from cleaning his car off to look at it. He squeezed the wound together and put a ban aide on it. That helped stopped the bleeding. Then we called the doctor and they told us they do not do stitches we would have to take him to urgent care or the hospital. The first Urgent care the doctor looked at the wound and said he needs stitches, but would not do it, he has to be taken to Children's downtown, because the one by us does not open until 6:00 pm. So we took him to anther urgent care that would do stitches, but when we got there they did not take our insurance. Finally after driving around forever and calling a number of different places we took him to Mercy Emergency, where he got the royal treatment. Thank Goodness he did not get stitches, they used the glue treatment instead!!! :) Then the doctor gave him a yummy Popsicle. We are just so thankful that it was a small cut on his leg. I don't want to even imagine how bad he could have been hurt! Thank you Lord for watching over him today!!!
One funny thing did happen today. We stopped at McDonald's on our way to Mercy. Gail pulled up to the first window to pay. Then started to drive off forgetting to go to the next window to get our food. I asked what he was doing and he said going to Mercy. I said what about the food. I had to get out of the car and walk up to the window and retrieved our food.

Nolan helping daddy shovel snow

Saturday we woke up to snow starting to fall. It accumulated nicely so Gail went out and shoveled the drive way and put down salt. Nolan decided he wanted to go outside too and show daddy how to shovel snow the right way. So with his little red shovel he helped for awhile, then decided to eat the snow. He got a real kick out of me making snowballs. I would make them and he would throw them. Here are some pictures of our snow day.

Oh Happy Day!!!!

Well I got my Christmas gift early this year!!! :) Well it is not really a Christmas gift but an answer to prayer!!! I don't have gestational Diabetes!!! :) Yeah!!!! So I get to enjoy Christmas dinner with my family....:) The doctor told me that my blood test came back in the normal range! So that is even cooler. Shoes

Last night Nolan surprised us by putting on his own shoes. He even had them on the right feet. (He does better with that than I do. If you only knew how many times I put his shoes on the wrong feet.) He did it today too! :) He is growing up too fast! :( Still have not heard from the doctor about my gestational diabetes test. Hopefully sometime today I will hear. If not I will call tomorrow. I am ready for a nap already. Nathaniel would not let me sleep last night. I think he is preparing me for his feedings every so many hours when he arrives! ;) Congrats to our friends Tim and Alicia they just had a baby girl last night at 7:00 pm. She had an emergency C-section due to the baby's high heart rate.. but all is good with mommy and baby! :) The baby was 4 weeks early and weighed 7 lbs 5 0z only 1 oz less than when Nolan was born.

6 month check up for baby and me

Well I took my beloved orange drink today. I actually drank it on my way to pick my mother up to go to the doctor's office. I actually did not mind it this time. I guzzled it down fast and it did not taste that bad this time. Go figure. However, when I got to the doctor's office they took me into a room to draw my blood. The nurse took one look at my veins and said there is no way I am going to be able to draw blood. (my veins are so small, always have been!) So the doctor had to draw the blood. He tried first in my arm, that did not work, then he had to have a butterfly needle (it is a IV needle basically put in my right hand. That did not work either. So He finally got a vein on my other hand... Oh yeah!!! So my hands are really sore and black and blue. But it wasn't that bad. I should find out my result tomorrow or within the next few days. Fingers crossed!!! I hope I don't have it, but I probably do have gestational diabetes. I can't believe that I am already going to start seeing the doctor every two weeks now! Wow!!! They were going to schedule me for Dec. 24th but I was like I don't think so... So I go on the 21st. Can't believe how fast it is going bye!:)
Funny story: When I was in with the doctor Nolan was sitting out in the waiting room with my mom. I had my stuff next to the chair I was sitting in before going into see the doctor. A mother and daughter walked in and the little girl went to sit in the seat I was using before going in to see the doctor. Nolan started crying saying: "That's my mommies chair!" He was really heartbroken about someone sitting in the chair I used. So the mother was kind enough to have her daughter sit in another chair. She thought it was pretty cute and funny! :0)

Nolan and his baby

My mom and I went shopping the other day. Nolan saw this cute boy baby doll that cries, laughs, and says a few words. He got attached to it at the store so we got it for him. Every time the baby cries he would pat it on its back and say it's ok. If you know my son he is very attached to his shoes and must have them on almost all the time. Well his baby did not have shoes and this upset him. Where's shoes? he would ask me... So I had to put a pair of his socks on the babies' feet. That satisfied him. Here is a picture of him taking care of his baby doll. He had to have one of his old bottles to feed him.

I hope this is a sign of how well he will be
with his baby brother!!!! :)

Nolan's Doctor Appointment

My Child's doctor is pretty cool. He told me to not bring Nolan in at 18 months unless there was a problem. Instead he told me to bring him in between 18mts and 24 months for a check up. So Nolan had his 20/21 month check-up today. The doctor told me that I did not have to make a 2 year or 3 year check up since he would be seeing me and the new baby a lot. (It is cool to have a doctor that is not out for your money, and he is great with Nolan and cares for him too.) Anyways, Nolan did not need any shots!!! :) Yeah!!! Doctor said he was looking good. Here are his stats..
weight: 28 lbs 7o percentile
Height: 33 1/2 50 percentile
Head C: 20 100 percentile (so yes my kid has a big head!!) :) But it sure is a cute one!!! :)

Nolan and Snow/Ladies Ornament Exchange

Last year Nolan was not for sure of the snow. He liked going laundry basket sledding with daddy, but he did not like how cold the snow was when it got on him. He also loved eating the snow. This year G-ma Hon found him a cool sled. Which by the way he calls his boat. We took him out for a few minutes on Wednesday, and he loved it. Of course his favorite part about the snow was eating it again... :)

Thursday Night was our annual Ladies Christmas ornament exchange with my church. It was fun getting together with everyone. There was some great food and some really cute ornaments. Some of the ladies get pretty brutal over wanting a certain ornament. (Just kidding) :) I walked away with two cute ornaments and gave one to my Husbands Aunt. I have not decorated our house for Christmas in a few years now. My excuses are, I was pregnant did not feel like it, than the following year I had a crawling/walking toddle, and this year I am pregnant again. So we will see about next year, because I will have a 2 1/2 year old and a 9mt old. I only took 3 pictures of the night, because I was enjoying the fellowship to much. So no pictures of the activity.

Gail's work party

Gail's work party was a lot of fun. They started the night off breaking us off into teams. We were told to bring our digital camera tonight and the reason why was our teams went on a savager hunt taking pictures of various fun things. Each thing you got had a point value attached to it. The team with the most points and back on time won. Our team won!!! Yeah.... So our teams members split the $ prize and Gail and I got $100. Cool! It was a nice evening out with a fun savager hunt game, dinner, and we got to see everyones cool pictures displayed that night on an overhead from a computer. Here are just a few of the savager hunt pictures from the party. Oh yeah this would be a great activity for our young marrieds class!!! :)
