Egg Hunt

I have been wanting to take Nolan to an Egg hunt for awhile and was excited to do so on Sat. However, I never thought we would get out the door to make any of them. They started so early and Nathaniel was hungry like every hour and fussy. By the time we were ready to go most of the events were canceled due to bad weather or over. We decided to give this church near by a chance since theres started at noon and they had not canceled. Let me just tell you this was much more than just an egg hunt. I guess they usually have the whole event outside, but had a plan B for bad weather and it was an awesome FREE inside event!!!:) Did I mention FREE!!! ME like FREE!!
Anyways we took Nolan to the egg hunt area first, where they put out crumble newspapers and hid eggs under them. The eggs were filled with candy! YUMMY!! Nolan had a blast looking for the eggs. The event also had crafts for the kids to make and take, face painting, games, air filled jump n play activities. Nolan loved these activities. At each station and games they got more candy. They also gave every child a coupon for a free hot dog and drink to eat at their Cafe. so free lunch for us! Another coupon to go to the Cone Ice cream place in West Chester for 1 free kid cone~! YUMMY!!! That place is the bomb!!! Can't wait to take Nolan there again this summer. We will definitively plan on going here for our annual Egg hunt event again. It made for a great family day and did I mention it was FREE!!!! Check out the pictures and video:

Easter Bunny

So we took the boys to meet the Easter Bunny. Nolan would have nothing to do with the bunny, so we only took Nathaniel's picture. We decided not to buy any this year.. they are to expensive!!! So Gail took the pictures instead while I protected Nolan from the evil Easter bunny! ;)

Nolan's B-day cake

Since we are going to celebrate Nolan's b-day with family on Sat. We decided to have a small cake on his actually day to celebrate his birth. He loved it!!! Here are some pictures and video.
Oh yeah, if you ask Nolan how old he is he will reply by saying: "Me Boy!!" I have no idea!!! It is cute, but I have no idea why he says that instead of two! :)

Happy 2nd Birthday Nolan!!!

Wow it is hard to believe that I have a two year old! :) This time two years ago I was in the hospital giving birth to Nolan. He was born at 4:01 pm. Having Nathaniel around this time brings back a lot of memories. I wish they did not grow up so fast. Time goes bye way to fast when you have children.

Nathaniel's first visit to church

Nathaniel went to church today for the first time. We all some how made it to church on time and I got to sit through all of Sunday School. However, during church time he got hungry after the singing so off to the nursery we went to nurse. Since he is still learning to nurse I ended up missing the service due to the fact it takes at least a half hour to feed him. It takes awhile for him to latch on and than once he does he goes for about ten minutes on each side. I have to keep reminding myself that he is a month early so it is going to take another month for him to be a pro at nursing. I have a lactation meeting with a nurse on Wed. I am hoping she can give me some more pointers now that we know what we are doing a little better. Well it was really nice getting out today and seeing people. We still have to minimize our outings for awhile due to him being born early and his Respiratory issue, but when flu and cold season are over and warm weather is a more permit fixture around here we are going to have some fun at the parks and taking walks! :)

Very eventful morning

I have now come to terms that I will never be able to brush my hair, teeth, get a shower, and get dressed before Gail comes home from work! ;) I have a very busy two year old boy and a very clingy 4 week old baby! Nolan is very good at being able to entertain himself, but he also loves to get into things he should not get into and seems to want my attention the most when of course I am nursing Nathaniel. ( oh how I miss the bottle, but not the cost of formula you had more free time and are able to do more while feeding). Nathaniel wants to be held 24/7 which I wanted a baby that loved to be held, but I was not thinking all day and night! :) So this makes it very hard to get anything done let alone sleep! Today started off good again... until Nolan got into one of my cabinets and broke a glass dish. There was glass everywhere so out comes the vacuum cleaner and broom to clean it up. Thankfully I had just finished feeding Nathaniel when this happened and he was being a good baby and allowing me to clean it up with out fussing. However, since he wants to eat like every hour right now... by the time I got that cleaned up it was time to feed him again. Then Nolan decided to tell me he is stinky... I take him back to the changing table to find a very poopy butt with no diaper on it and his boots covered with poop. Which somehow now got on the wall! :( I asked him where he put his diaper, of course he does not know. (I forgot I was talking to a 2 year old). I look around the house to find in my living room a trail of poop turds that lead me right to the diaper. Thank goodness it was solid poop this time!!! :) Well it is now noon and the day is half way over and I am hoping things will settle down. I will take a day like this everyday compared to yesterday!!! NO choking today, but I think I figured out what makes his saliva so thick.. his iron drops....I haven't given it to him today and there has been no problems so far. That is another nice thing about formula feeding NO iron drops.... Any ideas on how to give him these drops.. I am thinking of putting it in some water and feeding it to him with a bottle. Also think that I figured out what was causing blood in bowels... his formula... I have not given him any formula as a supplement for two days and no blood... This could be why he has been more hungry too....

scary morning!!!

So I thought I was going to have to call the paramedics today. We were having a great morning, until around 10:30 Nathaniel decides to chock on his own saliva. Now he has done this before, but only takes a few seconds to whip some spit away and he is fine. I have never really thought much of it, until today. Today he decides to scare mommy to death. I was getting Nolan ready for the day and all of sudden I hear gurgling noises coming from Nathaniel. I look over and there is a ton of bubbles and thick spit coming out of his mouth. I pick him up and try to wipe it away no good. Then he starts getting redder and his eyes start to pop out some... Now I am starting to panic... I quickly turn him upside down and start the heimlich on him... does not work... I then use that blue nose thing on him in his mouth and start getting spit out his mouth with it... that seemed to help and all of sudden he gets calmer and starts to look normal again.... His little face scared me so bad... I hope and pray this NEVER HAPPENS Again!!!!!!! If you are wondering what Nolan is doing at the time I have no idea, but when Nathaniel was back to normal my emotions got to me and I started crying. Nolan come up to me and says: "mommy what's the matter?" I say: "I am ok now sweetie" but I am still crying... Nolan takes my hand and starts walking me to the couch where he sits down with me and keeps holding my hand and says "its ok mommy."

1st Easter Pictures of Nathaniel

So I got this great deal on a huge Easter Basket. This thing is really big and it only cost 15 dollars. So of course I put my imagination to use and used it for a great photo shoot for Nathaniel's first Easter pictures. I really love taking pictures... Maybe one day I will take some classes! I can't decide which ones I like best Easter or St. Pat. pictures

St. Patrick Day pictures

Happy St. Patrick's Day Early. I know it is not until Monday, but I wanted to have a picture day. So I took Nathaniel's St. Patrick's Day pictures and Easter pictures today. Can you believe that on the 14th of March he will be 1 month old. Also hard to believe that he wasn't even due until the 16th of March. So these pictures also count as his 1 month old pictures.

Nolan + a box= loads of fun!

Gail finally put together our double stroller the other day. Man those things are huge!! I don't think we will have any room in our car trunk with this stroller in it now. OH well! It is really nice and I can't wait for warmer weather so I can take the boys out for some walks!!! Anything to get out of this house!!!! :) we are all having cabin fever!!!:) me most since Nathaniel can't go anywhere but the doctors still. But soon that will change! Yeah!! Nathaniel is still doing well, only concern we have now is that he has has some very small amounts of blood in his bowel movements. Doctor told us to keep an eye on it and call back if it gets worst or continues for a few days. So just pray for the little fellow that it is nothing serious. We checked out the web, it said it could be something I have ate, since I am nursing, or he has a small tear... Hopefully it is one of those...
Here is Nolan playing in the stroller box the other day. I thought it was pretty cute:

Snow, Snow, and more Snow!!!

This weekend we had a lot of snow here in Ohio. It was beautiful, but I must say I love snow around Dec. Give me a white Christmas and I am a happy camper. After Dec.is over I am ready for warmer weather again. Unless I am teaching, than bring the snow days... :) Gail took Nolan out to have some fun in the snow.. here are some pictures of there day.
