Wal-mart copyright Law....

So I did some more photo shop on the wash tub photos of Nolan and had them printed off at Wal-mart. When I went to pick them up they asked me for the copyright release form. I told them that I took the pictures. They said that was fine, but that they could not sell the prints to me unless I signed a copyright release form stating that I am the person who took the pictures. They said anytime pictures look professional you have to have a copyright form signed for their(Wal-mart) protection.... I guess I will take that as a compliment. Anyways here is what I did, I used it for one of Nolan's scrapbook pages...

I added some ducks to the scrapbook page.. turned out cute, and was one of the fastest and cheapest pages I have done....I also learned how to make a picture look vintage while keeping some color. I have been trying to do that since I have started learning photo shop... I just happened to stumble on to the process yesterday... I wrote it down how I did it, so let's just hope I remember for next time.

Splish splash Nolan was a takin a bath....

Here I go again taking more pictures...... click on the image to make them larger!

We will miss you Nittany!!!!

Well I feel like I have bailed out of so many fun actiitives this week. Sorry everyone! We have had such a crazy week. Friday Night Gail was trying to fix our bedroom bathroom toilet from leaking. He was almost done when he screwed something alittle to tight and the tank broke. So off to home deport he went to get a new tank. Problem: new tank was to small so back to Home deport again at 9:30 pm. Got home and that tank did not work. So we decided to go to bed and try again the next day. Mind you we still could not turn the water on because it would flood our bathroom. So we were using lots of bottle water to wash hands for a day and half. Anyways we ended up having to buy a whole new toilet... Problem has been solved!! :)

Later that day we said good bye to a good friend. We had given Nittany our first dog of almost 5 years away yesterday. We had contacted a Boston Terrier Rescue mission place and the first day they had Nittany on the web someone had contacted the Rescue place interested in him. So a person from the rescue picked Nittany up yesterday to meet them. The new owners wanted to make sure Nittany got along with their Boston T. And of course he did because he loves being around other dogs. So we were happy to hear the people wanted him and that they had another dog for him to be around. We will miss him, but know it was the best thing to do for him and us. Vet bills were getting to high and it was getting harder to take care of two dogs and a very active little boy. Plus we want to have more children here in the near future.

Nolan and I stayed home today from church. His ringworm is looking so much better, but we did not want to take any chances of spreading it to our friends children in the nursery. they say that as long as it is getting treated they can go back to school, day care and stuff, but I don't believe it. I would rather be safe than sorry.... So I am waiting until I can no longer see it on his skin before I let him near other children....I am over paranoid. I have always been when it comes to things like this....

Anyways Nolan and I have had cabin fever for the past week, so we spent a lot of time outside this weekend... We also took some new pictures which I will post later... They turned out cute, but not as cute as I had hoped. He has been cranky for the past week... so he was not really in the mood like he usually is to take pictures. I think it is due to teething.... His appetite has been strange too. He use to eat everything in sight, but his taste buds must be a changing because He has been very picky this week.

Crazy

This has been a very crazy week, hence why I have not posted for a week!!! :(
I took my one dog in a month ago for hives, but they were not healing and my other dog was coming down with red spots on his tummy. Then I noticed Nolan had a weired looking rash on his tummy. So I took Nolan in and the doctor said he thought it was ezema, but could be ringworm. Gave us a prescription for some anitfungus cream and he is healing. However, it take 3-4 weeks for ringworm to completley heal with treatment and then you have to keep applying medicine to affected areas after they heal as a preventive measure for it not to return for two more weeks.... Anyways I decided to take my dogs back in and have them checked. Yelp, the vet thinks they have ringworm, hence I said thinks, because the test results from scraping their skin takes two weeks to identify the fungus... So we our treating it as if it is ringworm with spray medicine... it is working great..... and they are healing... So anyways I have been scrubbing carpets, furniture, washing bed sheets, bleaching toys, all week to kill the ringworm... We are not for sure how are dogs contacted it... they go no where but our yard. We figured it out that they got it at the vet, because one of the vet assistants had it and still has it... I am so mad at them!!!!! Then we have made the hard decision to get rid of our dogs. Nittiany gets picked up Monday if not sooner, because someone is already interested in him to a Boston terrieor rescue place. We are going to hold onto lion for alittle while, and make a decision on him later. they have been in their crate all week. We only let them out to go potty and run around outside for awhile. We have to keep them crated until it is totally gone! Poor doggies!!!! :(
So needless to say Nolan will not be at church Sunday I don't want to take a chance and spread the ringworm to others... That is so not cool....

OH by the way, ringworm is not a worm... it is a fungus.... Just a little fact in case you did not know... Pray that it goes away soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Out with the Lawson Family!

Gail, Nolan, and I went out to eat with our friends Johnny, Tara, and Makenna last night. We then went over and spent time at their house. This was the first time we saw their new home, and it was beautiful! Makenna's room is so cute... I should have got a picture of it, but I did not think of it until now. oh well. Here are some pictures of the night. Nolan was so gentle with Makenna. He even tried to kiss her...

Oh what a day!!!

Last night Nolan came up to me and fell asleep on my lap at 8:00 last night. It was so nice to put him to bed early for the night and get to spend time with just Gail. However, the little man decided at 5:30 am that it was time to get up... I fed him and he took a short nap from 8:00-8:30. The day was going good until after his doctor's appointment today. (I took him in b/c of a rash) Doctor thinks it is Eczema...or ringworm! Great!!! If you know me I am like Germaphobic. So the doctor must have picked up that I did not like the word Ringworm mentioned. He told me it was no big deal, that people make a bigger deal of it than they should.. Yeah ok!! Then he proceeds to tell me he thinks it is more Eczema.. but he was going to give us a cream to help heal the rash areas. He said it could take up to 2-3 weeks for it to completly heal, but should see it fading away daily. I have to take him back if we do not see improvements. :( Anyways...his appointment was at 2:45 left there at 3:15 and did not get home until 6:15... All due to going to walmart to get cream for his rash, groceries to finish dinner, and pick up Gail who needed an oil change for his car. Then we ended up leaving some of our groceries behind and did not realize this until an hour later on our way home from the library...So back to the store Gail went... Anyways it is now 7:30 and I am sitting down for the first time all day...I hope tomorrow I will not be running around like a chicken who's head got cut off... Oh wait I have to take Nolan to Mercy tomorrow. At his 12 mt checkup, last month, the doctor told us to have him get a blood test to check for anemia and something else. We had to wait to have this done until he was completly off formula and on regular whole milk. So we are going tomorrow... Thank goodness Gail can help take him tomorrow!!!

Nolan helps daddy with the computer

Gail's been working on an old computer for some reason... I don't ask anymore when it comes to computer stuff...However, Nolan was very interested in helping him out.

How can I help daddy?

I think I see where the problem might be daddy!

Pondering over the problem

Nolan has the screw driver... He is helping by tighening the loose screws..

Photo Shop Class 2

Here is what I have learned... still need to practice a lot to remember totally how I did this cool trick... I used a picture of Nolan when he was 6 mts old that I took at our house. Click on pictures to make them bigger and more clear.
Picture I started with.

Learned to erase the background.

Used this picture of a wallpaper sample as my background.

Pampers to Grow

Pampers has this cool thing where you save points when you buy their products. We were saving our points for Read with me DVD item. It was worth about 200 points, but they had reduced some of their point values last week so we went ahead and ordered it for 80 points. We only had to pay about $8.00 for shipping. We realize it will be awhile until he uses it... (ages 3-7),but hey it was cheaper than buying it in the store for $25.00. It looks really cool. You put a book on DVD in your DVD player and then as you read the story or along with the story it will ask you questions... This would be a great center activity in younger grades.. HUMMM I will have to keep that in mind when I go back to teaching.... Hopefully our church will have its own school by then and Nolan can attend and I can teach their!!! :)

Photoshop Class 1

Gail bought me two books on photoshop. They came in the mail today and I was like a little girl at Christmas time opening up the box. Nolan was taking a nap which was so cool b/c that allowed me 2 hours to play with my new toy. I got bored with the first few chapters of the one book... to tech. for me... I had to keep telling myself you have to learn the dull stuff first before the interesting stuff. Well here is a little of what I learned. I learned how to change a color picture into black and white. Also how to add some color back into the picture... here is my original and photo shop print.
Click on the photos for a bigger and better view.
I still have a lot to learn!!!!!

Two Fools in Love!

Today is April 1st, my parents 35th Wedding anniversay. Congrats you two! They spent the day at our house. I made lunch and we hung out playing with Nolan outside. He was showing off how he is a much better driver than his daddy in his truck! Gail also gave him the letter "d" and asked him what this was... Nolan said "D" as clear as can be...more than once...:)
